Museo Sang Bata Sa Negros launched their giant Fish trash Receptacles Campaign in coordination with Sagay City’s garbage segregation program. The first giant fish receptacle was launched at the Old Sagay Elementary School with a short program attended by Mayor Javelosa, Vice Mayor Cueva , local barangay officials, members of the Board of Museo Sang Bata, officials of the school, teachers and students.
The giant fish receptacle mainly for plastic bottles and other plastic trash is a gift of Mr. and Mrs. Citoy and Eva Lopez of Sagay Sugar Central. Mrs. Eva Abesamis-Lopez, as member of the Board of Museo expressed her interest and willingness to help make Sagay one of the cleanest cities in Negros. She believes that starting the campaign with the children is one of the best ways to make the program a success.
The second giant fish receptacle was launched on the same day in Brgy. Old Sagay in the area near the Museo. This way the campaign can also be maintained by the museum through it’s environmental programs. The local fisherfolks and community around the museum participated in the launching and brought along their plastic trash to start the campaign rolling. There will be more giant fish receptacles coming, hopefully one or more for each and every barangay of Sagay.
