Here comes our “Books on Wheels” rolling into Cadiz City, Tiglawigan Elementary School, where a whooping 537 kids were jumping with excitement when the bus arrived at their gate. Imagine the happy voices of 537 kids, 50 plus parents, teachers and volunteers and yes one whole day of reading books, story telling, sharing, discovering ne words and distant places pictures.
A reading bonanza indeed! Plus a surprise treat for the children was the launching of Museo’s Anti-Plastic Pollution Advocacy Mascot in the form of a crab named “Kakay Bukakay” to complement the new plastic exhibit inside the bus. This was truly an exciting day for everyone. Thanks to Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante, Councilor Fria Cristine Napiza (who even read aloud a story to the kids) and Ms. Rodelin Becaro, School Principal, for the warm gracious welcome.
Thank you also to all our volunteers and Museo Staff, Leslie Abong Oreta, Hazel Villoso, Mercy Sanico, Lorena Baba, Ramelyn Cuenco, Remar Gallego,, Pedro Bocabal amd Timoteo Bocabal, who worked tirelessly in today’s activities.
